About the FPA NorCal Conference

Since 1972, the FPA NorCal Conference has held an annual conference in San Francisco for the purposes of furthering education and community networking. The FPA NorCal Conference is organized by a committee of respected financial planning professionals representing the San Francisco Bay Area FPA Chapters – San Francisco, East Bay, Silicon Valley, and Northern California (Sacramento).

This conference is planned for financial planners by financial planners.

The FPA NorCal Conference is the most established, advanced-level conference that provides the opportunity to interact with all parts of our community and profession. We offer an invaluable educational and networking event year after year.

Embrace Change

Embrace Change is the theme for the 52nd annual FPA NorCal Conference. FPA NorCal is the longest running financial planning conference in the country and has built a national reputation for the high-quality educational sessions by expert speakers and nationally recognized Keynote speakers. Opportunities to network this community of your fellow peers and our Partners is also an essential feature of FPA NorCal.

Technology is dynamically changing at a more rapid clip every year. Robo advisors looking to replace asset managers arrived on the scene a few years ago and now with, advancement of Artificial Intelligence, it seems every facet of our work sphere will be impacted. Will Artificial Intelligence be a tool in the future, or will it replace employees in certain job functions? How will that impact your career path?

There are so many changes we are constantly having to deal with. So what do we do?

Embrace Change by learning from our breakout speakers and keynotes about what is impacting you today and what change is coming over the horizon. Gain knowledge from our fantastic speakers’ experiences and expertise on topics from tax and financial planning, succession planning, client’s psychology, estate planning, and so much more. One of the best parts of being in-person is the ability to ask speakers questions during and after their presentations. Engage in conversation during the networking breaks on best practices gleaned from our speakers and Partners. Although Zoom is helpful for some meetings, there is no substitute for being in-person at the Historic Palace Hotel.

Embrace Change by networking with your fellow financial planners from the Bay Area to learn how they are making adjustments to their practice. Exchange best practices with old friends and meet some new folks to grow your network. Our internal motto within the FPA NorCal committee members is planning a conference For Us, By Us. The FPA NorCal Conference’s mission is always one of inspiring excellence and fostering community.
